Pecan Chewies

Delightful pecan brownies and something different.

1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1½ cups chopped pecans

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch pan.

Whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
Fold in chopped pecans.
Spread batter evenly into pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is crackly and edges are set but center is still slightly soft.

Do not overbake. They firm up as they cool.
Cool completely before slicing into squares.
