There is argument whether this is German or French. Well, it’s Alsatian so it’s both. Either way it is special.
• 1 flatbread or thin pizza crust
• 1/4 cup crème fraîche or sour cream
• 1/4 cup onions, thinly sliced
• 1/4 cup bacon, chopped and cooked
• 1/4 cup grated Gruyere
• Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
• Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F .
- Spread crème fraîche evenly over the flatbread.
- Top with onions, bacon, and grated cheese. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh thyme or rosemary.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Place on a sheet pan or pizza stone. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the edges are crispy and the toppings are golden.
- Slice and serve warm.
