Fancy Rice

If you want rice that’s a bit more than just steamed, this is an excellent choice. Also goes great with Beef Kabobs (See recipe)

Fancy Rice

2 T butter, melted
1 cup white rice, rinsed
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, chopped
Either:
1 beef bullion cube, 1 chicken bullion cube, or 2 cups beef or chicken stock.
1/2 tsp salt

Optional: (if using with the Steak Kabobs, leftover marinade)

Heat butter in a saucepan until melted. Add onion and cook to soften a bit. Add garlic clove and stir 30 seconds.
Add rice and toast in the butter until you can smell it toasting a bit.
Add water and bring to a boil.
Cover and reduce heat to a simmer.
Cook 20 minutes.
