My wife’s family’s favorite kabob.
2 lbs flank steak, cut into 1/8″ strips.
Marinade
1/3 cup soy sauce
3 Tbl vegetable oil
1-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 – 1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
Mix together all ingredients (you can slightly warm this in a saucepan to melt the sugar if desired. Let cool before adding meat.)
In a large bowl or ziplock bag, combine steak and marinade.
Let sit in fridge for at least an hour or up to 4 hours.
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water at least 30 minutes before putting on the grill.
You can either skewer just the meat or alternate meat with vegetables. If cooking the vegetables seperate, skewer them and brush with melted butter, salt, and pepper.
Weave the meat onto the skewer and broil or grill them 5-8 minutes on each side.
Suggested additions to the kabobs
Cherry tomatoes
Green pepper
Mushrooms
Onion
Pineapple
This is good with “Fancy Rice” (see recipe)
